Q I am a busy person and often have trouble finding time to exercise. What are some good ways to fit exercise into my day?

A You don't always have to find extra time in your day to exercise. You can start by shaping your day to day life around exercise and a healthier lifestyle.

Thirty minutes of moderate exercise a day is all that is needed for most people to maintain a basic level of fitness. If you are really pushed for time, the 30 minutes can be split into three 10-minute sessions.

Another suggestion is to walk to and from work if you live too far away, park your car further from your workplace and walk from there. Try getting up half an hour earlier in the morning or using half an hour of your lunch break to go for a walk, run or to the gym.

Remember that you are often surrounded by things at work and at home that you can use to create a regular exercise routine

Examples include:

? Taking the stairs instead of the lift

? Take the kids to training or the park and go for a walk around the block or join in the fun

? Make the most of walking your pets, and get your own heart rate going.
